I am good with the needles, check-ups, cleaning etc, but the idea of drilling makes me want to run. Needless to say, I was not looking forward to having 2 cavities filled. My experience was amazing. Dr. Adams and his assistant froze my mouth so well, I didn't feel anything and they reassured me every step of the way even as they discovered a 3rd cavity much to my dismay!! Although having dental work is still not my favorite thing.....I am so relieved to have found a dentist who really cares that his patients leave with a positive and pain-free experience. A friend told me last night that I should get a second opinion because "dentists these days don't have enough work and tell you you need a crown even if you don't. I told him that I trusted my dentist implicitly and there was no need for a second opinion.I felt like I made a new friend after Donna did my teeth cleaning. Dr. Cheek is awesome. He is the best. It is very clear that Dr. Moss genuinely cares about his patients. He gave his personal cell phone number to call if there were any problems, personally walked Trevor out to the car, and followed up with a phone call later on in the day. I would highly recommend Dr. Moss for any oral surgical procedure! I felt like I was spending the afternoon at a spa instead of at a dental appointment. No, they didn't give me powerful drugs to help me to ignore the crown procedure that I needed! When you start out relaxed, add a dear dental assistant who is gentle and friendly, include office gals who know their business and explain things patiently to you, then top that w/ a dentist who lets you feel like you're part of his family (so what if I'd be his grandmother!!)- you can't help but drop the fear/reluctance of having a dental appointment. All of the team at Adams and Cheek are effective in positive communication and courtesy. He makes every effort to achieve perfection in his dental reconstructions, and won't accept a crown from his lab unless it is exactly right. His dental blocks (injections for numbing) are almost painless. I see the hygienists three times a year even though my insurer only covers two visits annually. His hygienists are dedicated professionals who have been with his practice for many years. On top of it all, his office belongs in Architectural Digest. I am a physician and I recommend his practice to my patients constantly. My oldest daughter just had to have a tooth pulled. The staff treated her wonderfully. They made her feel comfortable and at ease during the entire process. My girls use to have anxiety about going to the dentist, but it is a battle no longer. Everyone is great and I will continue to recommend Dr. Adams and Cheek to friends and family! Waiting area...just shy of (5) star upscale Ski lodge accomodations with extremely comfortable furniture. If my lovely wife hadn't set up the appointment, and had I not knownledge of it being a dentist office, I'm certain a hot cup of cocoa was heading my way. I was torn, should I read the USA Today calling my name with the Packer's thoughts of a perfect season, the Raleigh News and observer, or just be completely lazy and chill to the big screen TV's above the fireplaces. My personal concierge, I mean dental Hygenist (Not mentioning names)made me feel right at home, and even though she made me smile the entire time, it's OK, my teeth were more beautifully clean than ever. OK...enough about the bad stuff. I had no pain during or after the procedure. It has been 24 hours since the procedure and I have had to take no pain medication. I have no problems with eating/chewing food. When I arrived, the entire staff was ready and waiting! I was taken back(in spite of the number of patients already there), put in a chair, x-ray taken and Dr. Cheek stayed as late as ANY dentist I know to take care of my problem. We found the tooth had to be extracted. He pulled the tooth, packed bone for a graft and sewed me up WITH NO PAIN! For as long as I can remember, I have had a fear of dentists until I found Dr. Cheek! Now I go to Cheek and Adams with no hesitation. They are the best! However, you and Dr. Cheek made my recent visits very comfortable and enjoyable when you provided me with new fillings for problem areas. One day soon I plan to have your office replace my last remaining old fillings with new fillings. After my last visit, I left with a mouth guard that has been helpful. On the downside, I go to bed each night with this thing in my mouth, which will take some getting used to. On the upside, it reminds me of my recent visits to the dentist. So I wanted to thank you for making my visits to the office pleasant ones and I hope you are that nice with all of your patients. Dr. Cheek and his assistants not only professionally took care of my medical needs,but assisted me with my emotional needs as well. I did not know what was going on in my mouth. After an evaluation of what may have caused the pains that I was experiencing,Dr. Cheek sat down and discussed possible alternatives that can fix the situation once the final evaluation has been done on my next scheduled(8.12.2011) visit. All of my experiences at this dental office have been great anad rewarding. It is an office with personnel whose personl care is immeasurable. They have first class, cutting edge and equipment, and Dr, Adams and Dr. Cheek are excellent technically and in chair-side manor. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, from reception, dental assistant and dentist. Wonderful environment! He was straight forward and honest about how he could do his best, but likely will still require Oral Surgeon. He called around and found me someone who would do it at a price i could afford. Later, I went back when a filling ripped out from previous dental work (not him, from my childhood) and he worked with me to get it taken care of in an honest, warm, and friendly environment. I can't say enough good things about this practice and will continue to go there as long as i can. The staff is extremely nice, friendly and welcoming! Dr. Cheek is an amazing dentist, and more importantly, a wonderful and fantastic person! Check them out, this place is the best!
